I offer a professional research service into family history using a variety of sources both online and at record offices in West Yorkshire. These include indexes of births, marriages and deaths, census records, parish registers and other parish records, wills and administrations, newspapers, army records, school records, travel records.
I charge an hourly rate to enable research to be tailored to your requirements. I don’t ask for a minimum number of hours. After an initial free consultation we can agree what research you would like to be carried out and the cost involved. A deposit is required before any research work is undertaken.
I will carry out online research for ancestors both in this country and abroad (having successfully found ancestors in America and Australia). I am ideally situated for the West Yorkshire Archive Service in Leeds so there won’t be any travel costs for Leeds based research, and can visit record offices throughout West Yorkshire.
Once the agreed research is completed I will provide a report which will be clearly presented and all sources fully referenced. Research is based on my hourly rate plus any additional expenses. Please see my Terms and Conditions document for full details.
“Jane conducted some local research for me on my own family history in Yorkshire and I was incredibly pleased with the results from both a customer service and research quality perspective. Jane kept in touch on a regular basis, confirming the scope of the agreed work and budget, outlining the timelines and explaining her terms with regard to payment expectations. Her research report arrived on time and is fabulous! Background information is provided on the sources considered, the sources were fully described and referenced and information was provided on avenues that had been investigated both successfully and unsuccessfully. I would not hesitate to use Jane for future research or recommend her to others.”
